Spent two years of my life on the design team in Houston and the fabrication team in Indonesia and Singapore on this project, the Maersk “Peregrino” FPSO. The film incorrectly describes this vessel as a “tanker” when in fact it is an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel); in layman’s terms, ”a floating refinery”.

$1.5 billion dollars and 16 million manhours went into the design and construction of this vessel. It’ll probably pay for itself within two years producing oil and gas in the Campos Basin, Brazil.
